A series of studies on Spanish prose and poetry of the Golden Age are presented in this volume. The first part concentrates on the depiction of reality in prose fiction, the second on plays by Lope de Vega, while the third and most extensive section deals with the plays of Calderon. Dr Pring-Mill is one of the foremost scholars in these areas, and the volume demonstrates his critical thinking over a period of some forty years.
