Sean Carroll es físico teórico en el Instituto Tecnológico de California (Caltech), especializado en cosmología, teoría de campos y gravitación. Tras doctorarse en Harvard, continuó sus investigaciones en cosmología, física de partículas y gravitación. Es autor de varios libros y uno de los científicos más activos en la red. También ha grabado una serie de 24 clases de 30 minutos sobre cosmología, tituladas Dark Matter, Dark Energy: The Dark Side of the Universe. Sean Carroll vive en Los Ángeles con su mujer, la escritora Jennifer Ouellette.
