Tony Millionaire (nacido en Bostón, 1956), de nombre real Scott Richardson (por el que solo se dirigen a él su madre y su abogado), se graduó en la Massachusetts College of Art. Ha vivido en Florida, California e Italia antes de establecerse en Berlín en la década de los ochenta. A principio de los noventa se traslada a Brooklyn donde empieza a dibujar regularmente tiras cómicas. Conocido principalmente por Maakies y Sock Monkey, sus ilustraciones aparecen frecuentemente en publicaciones como The New York Times, The New Yorker o Wall Street Journal.
