Definido como “música americana negrojudía de la selva” por Joseph Goebbels, el jazz no tardó en ser calificado como “degenerado” y oficialmente prohibido por el régimen. Sin embargo, era la banda sonora de la vida nocturna en Berlín, París y otras capitales europeas, y sus entusiastas, a pesar de los riesgos, no estaban dispuestos a renunciar así como así a su música predilecta.
