About the Author:Professor Kenneth O. Morgan, FBA, was Fellow of The Queen's College, Oxford, 1966-89; Vice-Chancellor of the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, 1989-95; and Senior Vice-Chancellor of the University of Wales, 1993-5. He is now Research Professor of the University of Wales, Aberystwyth and Honorary Fellow of The Queen's College.
