The novel tells the story about a crime investigation. Four youngsters have been close friends since they met in an orphanage. Three of them get the chance to go to university, but the fourth one, Peter, has to get a job.For several years Peter does not come to see his old friends. So they decide to go ad visit him. On the day of the visit Peter is being accused of a crime he did not commit. There is an investigation and a trial. With the help of his old friends, Peter gets his life back.
